Storage bins

The wheelie bin is manufactured from injection moulded HDPE to stringent European standards. Supplied in British racing green, the colorant used is stabilised against UV degradation. With its three sided lid handgrip and smooth rounded body, resistant to common chemicals and extremes of temperature, the bin is superbly functional, long lasting and hygienic. The superior 20cm rubber-tyre wheels makes the bin easily transportable and it's sold strong base a stable, level platform on which to stand.

Wheelie bin segregation To reduce, collected recyclables, to monthly emptying of the system the holding capacity of three wheelie bins is required. One for bottles and plastics, one for paper and cardboard and one for Steel/Aluminium and non-recyclable waste. The wheelie bins are split into three compartments, two removable 40Litre and one main 160Litre, to enable the effective segregation and storage of recyclable material.

 

The split wheelie bin is manufactured from injection moulded HDPE to stringent European standards, supplied in British racing green with all the features of the standard wheelie bin. This bin is split down its complete length by a removable partition forming two separate compartments. It's advisable to line the sections with paper sacks to aid removal of the collectables, as access to the bottom of the bin is restricted. The bin is highly suited to store segregated cardboard and paper with the added benefit of being able to contain the bin bucket at the top of one of its split sections, thus making a total of three compartments. This bin is very versatile and an asset to anyone segregating waste.

 

The bin bucket manufacture from recycled PE in grey with a British racing green lid. The bin bucket has hygienic smooth sides with rounded corners for ease of cleaning. The 35 litre capacity is ideal for the storage of organic waste prior to composting, reducing the number of visits to your compostor and increasing the size of the food layer. This bin is lightweight and strong with a handle that folds neatly away against the body, the wide opening allows for the easy emptying. Designed and produced by the same manufacture as the zero-2-land wheelie bins, this bin fits neatly into the top of a split 180 wheelie bin, giving the added weather and odour protection of being fully enclosed within the larger bin.

 

The kitchen compost bucket is the perfect compliment to any worm or compost bin. The wide opening allows for the easy emptying of plates, positive snap-tight lid can be opened with one hand. Sturdy contoured handle and rounded corners makes it easy to carry, empty and clean. It's made out of HDPE plastic and has a capacity of 25 litres. The integral Charcoal filter removes potentially foul odours from your waste scraps as they start to breakdown. It reduces the number of visits to your compostor and increases the size of the food layer within it.

 

The kitchen bin The smallest bin in the range at 10 litres, its designed to take day waste from the kitchen to the larger bin bucket outside. Manufactured from recycled PE and supplied in British racing green, its attractive smooth and rounded lines make it easy to clean. Special hinges allow a lip around the whole of the bin for the secure fixing of compostable bags. Their is a lower grip in the sturdy base to help with emptying and a strong metallic handle.

Environmental accessories

The kan krusher is a simple hand operated lever mechanism which compresses aluminium drinks cans, including the 500ml can, to 1/6th of it's original size allowing easy storage for future recycling. The kan krusher is manufactured from solid steel coated in a high quality, durable finish. The unit being, 40cm x 13cm x 10cm, and weighing 1.9kg, can be easily and securely wall mounted close to the aluminium storage bin for ease of use. Fixings are supplied with the unit.

Paper sacks Produced from strong two-ply brown paper these sacks are the environmental alternative to the black plastic bin bag. The 125litre capacity makes them ideal for dividing the wheelie bin in two; paper and cardboard sections. Use as a wheelie bin liner to make removal of collected recyclables simpler and dispose of your non-recyclable waste in them. Better to send these biodegradable sacks to waste and reduce the plastic in landfill. The used sacks can also be shredded and decomposed.

 

Composting worms Composting worms do not like soil and make their living eating organic waste. The worms will eat anything that once lived (even your old cotton T-shirt). Of the composting worm species, we recommend the 'redworm' (Eisenia Fetida) and 'dendras' (Dendrabaena veneta) because they are extremely hardy, easy to grow, reproduce well, have a large temperature range in which they can live comfortably and make excellent fine-grained castings. Worms are custom packed and supplied in quantities of 1000, delivered overnight.

 

Compost rake This handy compost rake is very useful for hand turning of compost and compost removal from the bin. It enables you to safely handle the compost from above through the lid or below by raking through the ground level door. Foam handled, coated steel shaft with 3 prongs, its light weight and short length of 55cm, makes this hand held rake idle for mixing the organic material additions to your compost bin.

 

Compost aerator Manufactured from 100% post consumer plastic, this aerator is ideal for improving the aeration of your compost without having to turn the pile. Its unique design allows you to push the aerator down into the compost from above, when the aerator is then pulled out the hinged fins open and lift the compost up, braking solid clumps to allow air in.

 

Garden shredder Ryobi RGS-1500 shredder. Shredding aids the composting process by effectively mixing organic waste, giving a larger contact area. This powerful 1600 watt electric shredder has a triple feed action, allowing the simultaneous feed of small and medium garden waste with cuttings up to 38mm in diameter. The four bladed cutting disc is quick to produce shredded material and its large capacity, coated metal hopper, is strong and well suited for use with bulky garden waste.
